Alimento Polar. It is a subsidiary of the Venezuelan conglomerate named Empresas Polar, that operates in Venezuela and Colombia. It is responsible for the segment of natural food drinks.
Born in 1954 as Food Remavenca, producing corn chips needed on the production of beer in Polar Brewery. Since then it begins to consider the possibility of creating a product cornmeal, arriving with it in 1960 with the establishment of Harina PAN under the slogan of "piladera is over," referring to the way in which they should do arepas without this product. In 1967 they create the company Procira specialized in animal food, operating independently from food Remavenca but belonging to Empresas Polar. In 1986 the company created Corina Agro industrial Corporation specialized in rice production and a year later venture into the sale of pasta with Mosaca company. In 1987 they bought EFE Gelato , since then it has been the leading ice cream company next to Tio Rico in Venezuela. In 2001 they bought the leading company in products Mavesa with sauces, canned and cleaning products, including Mavesa Mayonnaise, Mavesa Margarine, Daisy Tuna and Soap Keys among others.
In 2003 Alimentos Polar officially born, to merge into one large company wirh all food items of Empresas Polar.

The presence of Alimentos Polar in Colombia dates back to 1995. Since August 1, 1995 Alimentos Polar borned in Colombia under the name of Colombia SA Promasa - Col Promasa. Since then, the company began a process of significant investment and has been the leading company in the field of precooked corn flour and oats. Today Alimentos Polar Colombia SAS is a company that produces and markets brands of great tradition both internationally and nationally and being in the consumer's table for many years with: Quaker 100 years, Harina PAN Promasa 50 and 45 years. The presence of Alimentos Polar Colombia has been characterized by large investments, which has led to a significant development for the country and the Colombian market. The repeated interest of Alimentos Polar in the Colombian market and its ability to generate new business and opportunities, have been allowed to grow during these 20 years in the country. Under the brand P.A.N. in 2010, Alimentos Polar gave dinamic to arepas category ; now his corn bread stuffed with cheese is the leader in this segment. In February 2011, the company entered a new category, pet food, introducing concentrate for dogs under their brands and Donkan Dogourmet.
